about

A solid soldier of soul moves forward with the first of a series of singles, featuring brand-new songs backed with live versions of some of his most popular songs.

"My Favorite Place On Earth" is a song that had been percolating for a couple of years, with recent events in Martin's personal life helping to complete the sentiment very quickly.

"North (Live)" was recorded at the release party for Martin's last full-length album, Reliquary. The show took place at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2 on 7 June 2012, as as you can hear, the sold-out crowd was right there, singing and sweating along from start to finish. This live version of "North" features some of Martin's very favorite people who just happen to be the best musicians he's ever known: Chris Kuffner on electric guitar, Brian Killeen on bass, Patrick Firth on piano, Greg Mayo on electric guitar, and Zach Jones on drums.
